Online condolences may be sent for his family through our Web site at www.gayandciha.com.
Frank was born May 22, 1946, in Iowa City, the son of Leslie "Red" Beers and Johanna "Jo" Nelson Beers.
He attended Iowa City schools, graduating from City High School in 1964.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army.
For a number of years, Frank worked in the computer field away from this area.
He returned to this area to be near his mother, Jo Beers, in her later years.
He enjoyed buying, selling and collecting on e-bay.
He also enjoyed playing golf or racquetball with his many loyal friends.
His family includes a sister, Beverly Volicer of Westford, MA; brother, Michael Beers of Coralville; nieces, Emily and her husband, Stafano Frascaroli; Zuzka and her husband, Michael Blasi; Marika and her husband, Douglas Scott; and Nadya Volicer; and one great-nephew, Dante Blasi.
His parents preceded Frank in death.
Frank was a big supporter of Quad City Racquetball tournaments. I don’t think he missed any of our tournaments. He was a gentleman on and off the court. We will miss you Frank. -Dave
